A Naked Approach To Food

2022 Has brought many changes, but the one I am most excited about is beginning a new relationship with food. Let’s face it. I love food. I love to cook. I love to photograph food. And I love to create all kinds of new and innovative recipes. But one thing I lost over the years is an appreciation for the basics. I lost the joy of enjoying food in its purist form - naked. To be honest, it is probably healthiest way to eat. With no sugar added, no extra salt, no oils, and nothing to alterate its original flavor, it presents to our palate, natures gift and the basis from which we create. Today, I embrace the naked truth, that food in its purest form, can be a delight on its own. For many of you, eating an apple or an orange is something you just do and maybe don’t even think about. For me, it’s a habit I never acquired as my palate seemed to always be pursuing the next best thing. This year I am slowing down, and enjoying the building blocks that make our meals. I am embracing their benefits, savoring their pure delightful flavors, their unique profiles and enjoying their health benefits - One their own terms - as nature intended.

Probably not the most exciting recipe in the world, but one I hope to eat again often.

2 cups watermelon

1/2 cup red Grapefruit

14 raspberries

14 blackberries
