Pay You Back Bone Broth

The Benefits of Bone Broth are Mind Blowing

Jump on the Bandwagon now!

Making this Bone broth Literally pays you back. If you buy a Rotisserie Chicken from Costco, or wherever, and use the bones to make the broth it will replace $8 - $12 of store bough broth! And its better for you and better tasting!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Costco Chicken Debone

  • 5 gloves garlic

  • Before I make this I set aside veggie ends and pieces from the week of cooking

  • Carrot ends and pieces

  • Onion ends and pieces - plus 1 whole onion

  • Celery ends and Pieces

  • Broccoli ends and pieces

  • Pieces of pieces with ends and Pieces - Any veggies will do. Be creative

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Olive Oil

  • 4 Bay leaves

  • Fresh or dried herbes - whatever you have! I used thyme, Oregeno, Parsley, a bit of Rosemary and sage

  • Peppercorns

Step 1: Roast the bones and veggies with Olive oil, Salt and Pepper in the Oven at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. I roast all the scraps including skins, joints tendons everything.

Step 2: Using a large pot transfer your perfectly roasted bones and veggies to the stove top. Fill with Water

Step 3: And your aromatics: Whatever herbs and seasonings you like or have on hand.

Step 4: bring to a boil and Reduce to simmer. Leaving cover Simmer for 12 hours or overnight.

Step 5: Strain the liquid Well. I strain mine twice. Using a cheesecloth can ensure you have a more clear broth.

Tip: Using more water in your simmer pot will turn out more like stock, using less water will be more like bone broth. You know you have bone broth when it cools and becomes a bit gelatinous. But no matter what if you simmer for 12 hours you have released all the benefits and everything you want from the bones.
